Katrina Berg-Howard
I have worked closely with creative people for the past 12 years and I have a deep respect for the power of art to transform our inner experiences and insights. In my experience, good therapy can be just as profound.
I believe we all have the ability to heal ourselves and the answers to our problems are within. Sometimes though, this can be difficult to navigate alone. At these times, I offer professional skills, understanding and support.
My therapeutic approach is collaborative and wholistic. I listen and engage with empathy, curiosity and an open mind. When appropriate, I draw on a range of creative therapies such as sandplay, narrative, meditation, focusing and art therapy which I blend with traditional “talking” therapies to suit.
I am a qualified Myers Briggs facilitator and I enjoy leading groups on meditation, communication, self-esteem, life transitions, anger management and stress relief.
I am currently writing a book entitled Open Arms offering emotional comfort for people experiencing difficulty conceiving a child.
Finally, I have been a volunteer Lifeline telephone counsellor for several years, I hold a Bachelor of Counselling and Human Change (JNI) and I am a member of the Counsellors and Psychotherapists Association of Australia.
