Sal Flynn
I began my career working in graphic design and television where I spent many years inspired and exhilarated. Twenty years after I began, I was responsible for the coaching and pastoral care of the actors and presenters of a television network.
Today I am a psychotherapist, educator and coach. My approach is Transpersonal so my intention is to support my clients balanced development of the various aspects of their life; intellectual, emotional, physical, spiritual and creative.
With the challenges and pressures of daily life it’s not unusual for us to feel lost in the world and lost within our selves. Whether the challenges appear in the form of life transitions or unexpected change, therapy can help us to step outside our usual ways of perceiving things, into an expanded view of the world.
I believe that therapy can be a journey of finding our way back to balance and integration. It enables us to reconnect with the creative energy that inspires us to take action toward creating satisfying and meaningful experience.
My clients come from a variety of backgrounds, and all share a desire to build and refine their awareness of the sensations, thoughts and feelings that drive them, and the self defeating habits that sometimes stand in their way.
My formal and informal training blends the disciplines of psychotherapy, education, contemplative practice, the arts and mind/body awareness practices. Underpinning my work is nearly 30 years of practice and study in the eastern traditions, along with education and internships in Western psychotherapy and Yoga therapies both in Australia and India. My passion has always been to access the wisdom of both East and West to support my client’s process of finding stillness of mind from which springs their creative spark.
